Does anyone have any reccomendations for a rangefinder that will measure to at least 500yds.

I have to agree,Leica is a quality rangefinder,others I used don't even come close...<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

Leica and Nikon are both good ,I tried the old Bushnell 600 but it wasn't that good . We checked the 600 against an EDM and it wouldn't give us a reading but about half the time .That could be why they stopped making it .I have heard the new ones are better but haven't tried one .

I just bought the Yardage Pro 500 DX. My logic was simple; it has filters to block returns from rain, reflective surfaces,intervening brush, and it allows me to continuously scan moving targets. It also has just the basic no filter system.

In the Pacific Northwest, eache of these features is invaluable and in a $260.00 package.

Leica LRF 800. The optics are great and the unit is very compact. The internal readout isn't as 'techie' as the Bushnell's; just a sight box and the range to target. Bushnell has a whole bunch of stuff displayed when you look through the eyepiece. Doesn't have the scan feature that Dick mentioned but it has all the others.
