.300 Savage for caribou?

Anybody have any thoughts on .300 Savage for caribou? I have an old Model 99 I'd like to use in 2006.

Using a 150gr bullet really no real difference from a 308. Go for it.

I have used the .308 win to kill a couple caribou. Not much difference between the two. Go ahead and use it. Its got all the juice you need.

The 300 Sav in the 99 will be a good bou rifle.I would use the 180 gr bullet instead of the 150.Both will work but the 180 has a little more penetration IMHO.I've seen elk killed with the 180 gr factory load.I would sight it in at 200 yds and go hunt'in.

From my experiance the Bou don't appear to be all that tough to bring down. .300 Savage should work just fine. There are some long shots so get your trajectory figured out.
