He is exactly right! the 300wsm is awsome! how old is he? he might not be able to handle the recoil if he is that young

hey, if you like that A-bolt, consider shopping used to find one for your son

you should be able to find one scoped for less than $700

if you don't have local shops w/ used guns, try Gun List at the newsstand or...

i would try wal-mart for a rifle. they will usually match the price of other stores. are you looking for wood or synthetic stocks? the most common caliber for wal-mart is the 30.06 but i bought my .300 rum from them. i would try maybe a Remington model 700 adl in the .300 win mag and order a burris fullfield II from swfa on line. you should be able to get this packaged for under $700. knowing that your son is graduating college he'll probably have more time hunting. he should enjoy that present. good luck.
