I might give them a try. This is my first season of bowhunting moose and I have 3 weeks off of work starting on the 19th(should be prime time for the rut). I am not to concerned about getting one though. I would be just happy to call on within bow range to get one would be SWEEEEEET.

What the heck are they? Sounds like what a neighbor of mine used to burn in his basement so his parents couldn't smell him smoking pot.

The best I can say is that they are a wire strand coated with a flammable material inpregnated with scent. They are supposed to smolder for a period of time giving off a steady stream of scent.

I've heard some pretty good things about the ones for deer. If a buck smells them they come in. A friend told me he actually had a buck try to hump the bucket that he was using with them. Make sure you follow the directions exactly. He tried it without following the directions and it didn't work. The big thing is the deer has to smell them. If the smoke is going straight up no deer is going to smell them. It might take the right wind conditions for them to work.
I'm going to give the moose sticks a shot this year.
Good luck!

I've used them a number of times but make sure the animals are in the area, they aren't an excuse for lack of scouting. They are a wooden stick with a pungent substence on them and you can use them without a pail but they are not as effective. Good Luck!

Have used them last year on moose and bagged a 24 point bull.
He came within 100 yards 4 days in a row. Then a friend said try these.
The next morning he came in 25 yards from my tree stand.14 days later in the deep freeze. You still have to find them first!!!!!!!!!!Also trying the elk ones this year as I know for to big herds,250+.
