how much tavelling to hunt this year?
How much travelling will you do to hunt this year?I start hunting antelope sept 30 which is a nine hour drive each way. Then oct 18 its an eight hour drive each way to the mountains to hunt bighorn. On nov 1st our elk and whitetail hunting starts which is another six hour drive each way.The middle of november I hunt mules which is another nine hour trip each way.All this travelling so far is in my home province of alberta. At the end of november, its a twelve hour drive to saskatchewan to hunt whitetails. All added up I will drive 8000 km or 5000 miles for six weeks of hunting this year.

Well lets see. I go for Antalope oct.5 @ 6 which is 2hr driver
each way. Then I go for Elk Nov.8 that is a 4 hr. drive each way.
Then if you want Ducks @ geese plus rabbits or upland birds. That
would be around 100 hrs. of drive time.

This year I'm averaging 7-8 hours each way for deer and bear hunting. I'm hunting in-state only due to house remodeling. Last year, I drove 2-3 days 1 way for hunting in BC. Next year, I may drive even further. It adds up the miles quick on my truck but I enjoy every minute of it. Good hunting.

Woodland Caribou. 1 hour drive out, 1 hour drive back. Last year I made the trip 6 times before taking an animal.
For partridge, ducks and geese anywhere from a half hour walk to a one hour drive and anything in between.

Well for me normally it is about 1 to 1 1/2 hours to where I hunt, but I already have an 18 hour flight and a 7 hour drive to get to camp under my belt this year <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
Everything else is just a short drive!

I will be driving from my home to Wyoming to hunt antelope and mulies, 31 hrs. each way actual driving 1900 miles. Locally I drive 50 miles each way every time I hunt my farm. I also do some bowhunting for whitetailes in SE Ohio - approx. 150 miles each way. Total approx 5500 to 6000 miles this season.
