which state?

If you could live in any state you wanted, with your decision being based entirely on your hunting, which state would you live in and why?

I'll throw a different spin on it. If it was based on hunting only WITH current regs then I'd have to say Alaska. Lots of game and opportunities without a lot of people. But if reg's were different and I could draw whatever tags I wanted every year I would choose Wyoming or Montana. Lots of game and not near as cold as Alaska.

This is a HUGE misconception about Alaska, wait untill you see what it takes to get away from the people, and to where the game is!!!!!!

There are LOTS of people in Alaska!! And, lots of people does NOT = lots of game!!

Another misconception!! Some places in Alaska it barely freezes all winter!!! Many places in the lower 48 are colder that where i lived in Alaska..

The interior of Alaska is cold in the winter, and hot in the summer, along the coast, it's not so cold in the winter, and not so hot in the summer..

RE: which state?

I think my problem with Alaska is the length of the day in winter & summer. I think that long dark winter would wear on me----plus the long days in summer would also take a toll. I'll stick with Colorado---love the blue skies & sunshine.

RE: which state?

Alaska, if ONLY hunting is considered. Though making a living, climate, and so forth must be factored in, which is why I live in Colorado.

Alaska hunting is the best the USA has to offer IMO.
Alaska residency: Anchorage or Sitka looked like nice places to live when not hunting.
Snowbird to Colorado/Arizona or New Zealand for the off season.
