back from Montana first Muley and let the Elk walk
Got back two weeks ago from Montana one my first Elk Hunt and had to let him go .A good 6x5 but in the shadows and at 800 yards. it didnt feel good so ill be back next year for him. i didget a good ten point Muley at 485 yards though great heart shot. not bad for a southern boy.you guys in montana have it made you can see a long way . here they could be 50 yards from you and you may not see them---Dont have elk by the way

gunny97,
Congrats on your trip, if it was your first time hunting "out west" I hope you enjoyed it, and yes, we can see a long ways in these here parts (so can the game )
Seems like hunters from Michigan and "down South/deep South" (including Texas) are consistently some of the most "hard core" (positive) hunters I know.
Thanks for not "taking a whack" at that elk at 800 yards.
