Now this is road kill!!
 

About 5 years ago the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) released a quantity of elk back into the region of Barrys Bay, Ontario. This was in effort to re populate this area
with elk as they did exist in the region decades ago.

Well here are some pictures taken about a week ago near the small community of Burnside, Ontario. As if we didn't have enough problems with deer being hit already. I believe it totalled the car that ran into it but I have no pictures. It was still alive after the accident so one of the locals finished it off under police supervision.

Any guess on the weight?

That's too bad, he's a pretty nice bull. Hate to see that comin over the hood. Live weight I'd guess that bull is around 800 lbs.

Always sucks to see a good animal taken away from us like that. Hopefully everybody in the car was alright though!!
