hhaaha. I occasionally pinch it. I don't really smell urine much though unless I'm peeing on myself.

I not only pinch it. I sometimes taste it - HA HA.

Urine when found will roll in it. Great scent cover!

I pinch it to see how fresh it is and I smash it under my boots for a little extra cover scent. The urine is a different story. I wanna get my elk but a mans gotta have standards and thats where I draw the line.

If I see fresh droppings and urine i make sure I smash it up and rub my boots in it for the 100% natural scent.

What could be better then real fresh cow in heat urine or rutting bull urine on your boots?

I always am smashing it and rubbing it on my boots. I also take some in my backpack to put in my buddy's sleeping bag to keep his scent down.:D

Ah yes, a true sign of a real hunter. I have done both to determine the utmost freshness. Sometimes it can be difficult due to the moisture content if its after a winter thaw or a fresh rain, but usually if rescent elk have been in the area its pretty easy to tell by the amount of other signs left in the area. I even get down in the beds to smell and look for hair to make sure that its elk, or whatever to idenify the animal that made it. I am a firm believer that you got to know the animal your hunting and you do what it takes when in there territory. ;) Bobby
