OH YEAH, those East Humboldts hold some MONSTER deer. Only problem is, like you said, you really have to be tough to hunt that unit. Its bad enough just in the Rubies. I don't know about going up there after deer, but if I ever draw a goat or sheep tag:D

Hey,

You're talking to a bonafide gearhound here. Lord knows I am not afraid to spend a buck. My caribou tent is an MSR Storm King, which is essentially bombproof and runs about $700. Now $700 might seem like an awful lot for a tent, mostly because it is, but that sucker can take anything mother nature dishes out, and it still only weighs in at 16 lbs, so its too heavy to backpack, but just great for a fly-in hunt.

Hell, buying new gear is at least as fun as hunting. Why should women have all the fun shopping anyway?

I was also thinking of getting one of Hard Wear's Ultralight sleeping bags also, but kinda out of budget range for this year. That thing (the -20 F) model runs just over $500!!! Probably well worth it, but too much for my blood right now. Maybe next year;) I have to get the tent and then the water purifier, which will run me close to $350 total, maybe a little more. Plus a couple of bottles to go with the water purifier and a few little nit-picky things. Oh yeah, just remembered. I need to get some game bags. I know we used some before that were washable and seemed to work very well (don't know what happened to them). I don't remember what they were made out of, or what they were called. Could someone point me to a good source for game bags??
