Gun laws in Canada???
 

I'm headed to Canada in a few weeks to hunt bear. I'm going to hunt with my bow but I may switch to a gun if things are slow. My friend is taking two guns with him. Can I use one of his guns? Or do I have to claim my own weapon in order to use it? What forms do we need to have filled out for crossing the boader?

I am a outfitter in Saskatchewan, and you can get the form to fill out at the border. You will have to register one of the guns in your name and you are the only one that can use that gun once it is registered to you. You will need to keep the gun registration on you at all times and there is a $50 (canadian currency) registration fee.

Bring lots of ammo too because we need a licence to buy that too! Good luck on your hunt.

You will need a form JUS 909 to import a firearm into Canada. Yo can get a printablle form here:

You can borrow a firearm from a Canadian resident, but not from your buddy. You will need a form JUS 715 E/F. Youcan get this form here:
