243 and Caribou

Would a 243 be enough gun to down a caribou? Just curious because one day i would like to hunt them and i was just wondering if that would be enough gun to get the job done???

a .22 would kill a caribou but that dosent mean you should use it. I have personally seen a caribou shot with a .243 but would think you might want to go a little bit bigger. Like .308 or 30-06 range

I've never personally hunted with a .243. But my son-inlaw has for years. Has taken 6 or 7 elk with it mostly bulls, the biggest 350+. So by using quality bullets for the job at hand like failsafes or partitions you should have no trouble if you put it were he lives.
Good Luck--and have fun!! elknut1
