Biggest Black Bear
 

What is the biggest black bear you all have taken? It seems they just keep getting larger and larger.
I took a 325lb boar with a 19 & 3/16" skull in 2002 and a 313lb boar in 2003 in MA. I haven't had that skull measured yet. It is still at the taxidermist.

I took a 415 lb boar here in Pa and he measured 20 11/16 "

I shot a chocolate coloured black bear last year that weighed 418 lbs and scored 20 11/16 here in Manitoba near Riding Mountain National Park.

Here's a picture of that bear (I am on the left) and my uncle's bear (on the right) shot the same night 15-20 minutes earlier approximately 3/4 mile away! His bear weighed 392 lbs and scored 20 4/16". His bear was shot with a bow.

biggest blackbear for me was 20 3/16 Shot on Vancouver island last spring,he squared 7 foot.

1- 6' 4" rug (nose to tail) 18 12/16" & a full mount 19" both bow kills.

This spring season i shot my first black bear in montana. i have not officialy had the skull scored yet but i have it measured at 19 3/8". pretty nice bear for my first.

I"VE yet to to hunt bear in MA. In live here to, never got one ethier ,I know someone who had one in his yard that went 8 feet easy. the skull on that bear must have good mass. plus, ma. I belive just started keeping a record book on black bears[&:]

I think people are getting scores and actual measurements mixed up. There is no way a black bear skull is measuring 19 inches!!!!! The world record, according to Boone & Crocket is 14 12/16 length and 8 14/16 width.
