Unfortunately, I wasn't there for the first hand story. I have heard it a million times from my dad and my brother. The hunts are done on dog sled. You take a snowmobile and dog sleds to your camp, which is basically a 12 by 12 shack. I dont' know the exact dimensions, but it's not very big at all. I believe they got this bear on their fifth day of the hunt. They had passed up a few smaller bears in previous days. On the fifth day on their way back to camp, after passing up a bear that day they ran into some big tracks. They expected that the bear was checking out their camp and that is essentially what happened. The bear was shot at @100 yards with a .338. One shot was all it took and the bear dropped. I wish I could tell the story like they can, but unfortunately I can't. We've got the videos, but I can't upload them on here.

Congrats to your dad, James Vee! Nice bear![8D]

Is that a whale bone hanging below the rifle on the wall?
And is that a wolverine hide hanging next to the window?
