Ahunter55, never been on one but I have chequed it out as they have buffalo ranches around here, the cost is $600.00- $700.00 for a cow and $1500.00 for a bull. They frown on the archery part here, they say if you stick it and loose it, you buy it. I would just go with a rifle and be quaranteed meat. I haven't heard too many good things about the meat, [&o] I guess you kinda get spoiled with deer and elk. Buffalos are really nasty creatures.[X(] Bobby

Not to argue with you, but buffalo meat is actually very good. I would put it up there with elk and moose as far as taste. It is very similar to beef, just a little leaner.

I have had Buffalo b/4 & put it with Elk also. This is a cull hunt on a free roaming herd from what information I have at this time. I just need to put it in the right spot.

i recall eating good buffalo and some i might not feed my dog
if you are bow hunting for them i think your setup will be fine just make sure you can hit a 50 cent piece at 30 yards and dont shoot over 30 yards at the animal
they are big and have big heavy bones
shoot one well and it will drop in under 100 yards shoot one poorly it might not be dead when/if you find it

Well fellas-looks like I will be going on that hunt a little sooner. Changed date to start the hunt March 21st. Me & a friend of mine from Maryland will be going & I have my camera man all set to go also. Maybe will just put this on some TV show so everyone can see """IF""" we do any good.

your setup will work fine for the buff!!!!
sounds a lot like what i used to get mine. after the arrow took both longs, she (big cow, also a cull hunt) was on her feet just a few seconds, but get ready to see a lot of blood:)
the three blade will work well, i use a thunderhead, and the only thing that stopped a pass through was the other shoulder bone
also, the meat is excellent.....
