Great Season

I had my best season ever this past fall.

It started beginning of Oct with an elk hunt in Wyoming. The first afternoon we saw 15 bulls and called in four 6x6s to 20 yards. It was a thrill to see screaming bulls so close. The next day was a little slower, but still saw 10 smaller bulls by noon. Saw another 10 bulls in the afternoon including a big 6x6 we decided to go after. Called him into to 80 yards and killed him with my 300WM. He had 11” bases and gross scored 339”

Last week of October I went to southern Colorado to hunt Mule Deer with my buddy. We looked over 126 bucks trying to find a huge mid 180s buck he had seen in the summer. Never did turn him up. Morning of the 5th day I killed beautiful 6x6 (including brows) that gross scored 154”. Shot him at 30 yards with my 300WM.

Finally I bow hunted in central Kansas the second week of Nov. It was really windy the first couple of days and then warmed up into the 70s. I saw several young bucks, and on the fourth day a mid 130s 8pt and a 140” 10pt but no shot opportunity. I finally connected on a wide 8pt at 27 yards. He gross scored 122”, had 23” main beams, and an 18.75” inside spread.

I'll admit- I'm jealous!

Just the amount of game you saw!

This was absolutely one of my worst seasons over all. My kids got doe though, that was the highlight.

Thanks for sharing.

This will be a tough act to follow. Congrats! Had to get an extra freezer, did ya?

Thanks everyone! Yes it will be a hard act to follow, but I will try.

Sorry to hear about your season Jake. Next year has to be better.

What an amazing season! A called-in Wyoming bull, a solid Colorado muley, and a nice Kansas buck with a bow. That’s the kind of year every hunter dreams of. Huge congrats.

Doesn't have to be! Lol. But hopefully.

I'm hoping to be in Wyoming for muleys next October.

I haven't decided. We have 8 points. Any good advice?
