Had time to do a little scouting last couple of days here in Montana, quite a few elk around, get's a person excited to see decent bulls . Saw quite a few cow's, and calves too, sad part is the deer numbers are low, real low.

Good stuff I didn't get an elk tag but have a mule deer for Nebraska and Montana and antelope tag for Montana next few weeks will creep by . Got the bow shooting out to 60 so man I can't wait to get some feet on the ground and a few stalks in !

Good Luck with both tags, I saw a couple nice antelope bucks before seeing the elk. Here is another bull, this one is hanging out in my pheasant hunting country....LOL...moose

Actually, there are a few calling the area of Montana I live in home. I suppose they work their way down from Canada following a stream. Lots of coulee's in this country ad other broken terrain. Good food for them that is a given.

That is a good looking Shiras moose. I see them sometimes in Colorado but getting a license is seemingly impossible. Are you able to hunt the moose in your area?

You can, but like you stated, hardest part is drawing one. A young lady who was a senior in high school drew the tag 3 years ago, shot a 42 inch bull miles from our home on the Milk river, it was with 4 other bulls at the time.
