Each hunter has a different perception of hunting. And as experience shows, only those who take hunting seriously and work hard are successful

1. Keep record of hunting spots, game trails, and points of interests over the years. Eventually you start forgetting places. Plus you can pattern animals even over generations by the natural habits they prefer per places you hunt.

2. Make a plan, work the plan. Commit to the plan, don't second guess it. Staying positive is a must. Not seeing anything and bad weather can ruin the mood but you don't fill the tags going home.

3. In addition to using topographic maps to find spots you can use them to take shortcuts and find areas inaccessible to the average hunter. You can even find choke points where the other guy walking aimlessly could be to your advantage.
