Default Moose Hunting Calling Techniques

If you want to get success, then it is must to research on calling moose before going on hunting. There are lots of techniques which you can use to call moose. I'd like to share few ones here.

1) Call in a location where moose frequent:

You need to scout and find areas where moose frequent if you want to be successful calling them in.

2) Don't stand in the open:

Calling moose from an open vantage point is risky for two reasons; first, moose feel more comfortable in thick cover. They will respond much better if the area they are approaching provides them with a feeling of security. Second, moose want to see the animal they are approaching so if you are standing in the open then you run the risk of being spotted.

3) Don't be a robot

4) Take his temperature

5) Be Patient

6) Be mobile

Which method do you guys use to call moose? Please share with me here.

I've only been on 3 moose hunts, all in southwestern Montana. Two were my hunts and the other was a friend that I took in. All were DIY spot and stalk hunts on National Forest land (one of the hunts, I packed in solo). We did not do any calling. We shot one 40" and two 50" bulls. One of them (not mine) made the B&C book.

1,2,&5 I don't want to move very much and try to be down wind of them. A moose can be difficult to hunt at times..

Wouldn't that depend on whether it's during the rut or not?

I reckon it would. I can't think of another situation to take the temperature of a bull moose unless you are a Veterinarian.
