How many would feel safe using one of these?

For archery, which these are intended, yeah I'd be okay. But if there was any kind of firearm season open, not on your life.

Nope wouldn't be something I would use. I can't imagine having to lug it around and the safety aspect would bother me.

As much as I love hunting and have since before I was old enough to do it, I don't love it enough to make myself look like legal game knowing there are people out there who wouldn't give a second thought to shooting at those things for real game. I would give your life expectancy about as long as a night crawler on a driveway when a flock of robins landed if you were to use the turkey decoy in front of your face while hunting turkey in PA. There are some things that may be ok, if you are the only person for miles where you are hunting but in PA, no way I would chance it. The native Americans would drape a deer hide over them when stalking deer, today, that would be a death sentence.

If someone had a large tract of private land and absolutely nobody else could get on it I image it could be useful. About the only application I could think of where it might be somewhat safe would be speed goat hunting on private land where you could see if anyone else was there. Here in the northeast things are too tight.

I watched the videos, and perused the website for the decoys. It appears to me it intended to be used like a blind, as well as a decoy. the shooter being able to shoot through it, as well as view through it, but nowhere on the website does it show that. I am thinking they themselves wouldn't recommend such foolish behavior.

I hunt private land and even then would not use this. If I were on public land, absolutely no way. Might be fun to place one of these around a game camera to see what you get pics of though. :D

Given the area I hunt in norther WI, home to the pumkin army. Ain't no way in hades, I would ever use one of those.

spacemoose 01-15-2018 02:33 PM

That would be a big no. Since I only hunt on public access land.

Decoys

I have used a similar one for antelope during bow season and it has work well! Gun season, no way!!

Billford99 01-17-2018 11:18 PM

I only hunt on public areas so this thing will definitely not work.

I saw those last week at the Denver ISE show, and saw several people that had bought one carrying them around.

Like others have posted, they might be ok for archery antelope, and maybe for deer or elk on VERY limited access private land, but NO WAY in any type of firearms season.

I'd be afraid I'd get my ass shot off!

I'd probably feel comfortable hunting on private land if I owned the land and knew for sure I was the only hunter on the place.

Even then I'd be a bit concerned.

Irondog54 01-18-2018 08:29 PM

We used to joke about giving the irritating guy in camp a fur coat and antler hat to go to the outhouse....for that reason, I'm out. No way.

GOOD OLE BOY 01-21-2018 11:34 AM

No way for me either.Even if their wasn,t a threat of other hunters,I like to trick my game by my own stealthing skills.
