Axis deer hunting in Florida

My wife wants to go to Florida next Feb/March. So I'm thinking I would like to do an axis hunt. First of all, will axis still be carrying their racks? The next question is can anybody recommend a good place to go with?

I heard good things about the Brady Ranch when I lived in FL. Never hunted with them myself but if I was looking for Axis in the sunshine state that is where I would start looking.

Not sure if they still have bone on them that time of year

I drove by a place in TX yesterday that had a dozen or so axis in a pasture. I saw 2 hard horned bucks.

Since I didn't draw my SD deer tag I'm pulling the trigger on a free range axis hunt in Texas this Sept. It will be my first time hunting in Texas and hunting axis deer.

Hope you take a good one. You should check into hogs while you are in TX. Lots of them around and many people in the hunting business will allow you to take as many as you want on hunts like the one you have for axis. 2 or 3 50-75 lb hogs for sausage would be a good addition to the axis.

Yes, I agree. I think I read in my contract that I could take hogs at no additional charge.
