Well I finally got the pictures back. I shot him Oct. 5th. I was hunting on my Father-In-Laws 11,000 acre ranch in Eastern Oregon in the Heppner Unit. He is a 3X3 that measured 28" wide and 23" tall. I shot him with my 300 Ultra Mag at 354 yards using 165 grain Barnes X XLC bullets. It was the first animal I have killed using the Ultra Mag and Barnes x bullets. Boy they sure did the job He only took two steps after I shot him. He weighed out at 172 lbs. at the butches on the hook. He is by far the biggest deer I have ever shot.
Now I can' t wait to use the Ultra Mag on elk only a few more weeks. The night before I got my deer we saw a heard of 150-200 with a real nice 6x6 bull in it.
