Kudos to the officers who caught and prosecuted those pukes. However, I think $1000 in court costs and $5,000 in restitution is very light for killing 40 deer. As far as the probation, it isn't impressive. The court dropped the ball on this one.

This was already discussed at length in the Off Season Forum. The sentences were way too lenient and even though they lost their hunting privileges for life in 44 states when people are committing numerous acts like they were it's more than likely that being the scofflaws that they are that it will continue. IMHO jail terms are needed in egregious situations such as this one.

Officers found videos of night time shooting, grotesque treatment to wildlife, and believe the men are responsible for poaching at least 40 deer.

Calzada and Albert have been issued with the following:

Lifetime hunting ban in 44 states
$1,000 each in court costs
$5,000 in restitution
Weapons confiscated
100 hours of community service for the TWRA
18 months of probation
Monetary penalty is too light. It should have been at least $1000 each for every deer poached and at least $25,000 each for restitution to the people of TN. That would have put $130K in the kitty and would make others think twice about doing that B.S.!

Should be prison time. Probation won't keep them from doing it again.

Top, I didn't realize this was the same case that started the compact discussion.
