2015 buck
Nice pile of meat there trapper! That's 2 Wyoming deer on here with no velvet hanging (one white one muley) and pretty much dried hard. I guess your all's rut is going to kick in fairly early this year!
It is fairly the norm for them to be hard horned by now. I will occasionally see a few younger bucks with velvet still. Of the 13 bucks I saw yesterday, two were in velvet and the rest rubbed off. I did shoot a big typical a few years ago on September 15, and he was in velvet, but it was slipping and I expect he would've had it off in a day or two if I hadn't killed him.
I know a few of the "pros" fight hard for Wyoming tags because archery opens up so early and there's more chance of hitting a big guy in velvet. Never could figure the attraction there, even when I did trophy hunt I never really cared much for a velvet rack. But anyway, nice buck. Happy eating!

Thats a beauty!

That's a good one! What area?
Nice, congrats.

Congrats! Did you get him with a bow?
That is a good one.
He was a region G buck. It was a rifle hunt, though in bow range.
Darn you! thats the one i was after. LOL
Nice !!! Was he really gray for a mulie, or was it the lighting when you took the picture? Sneaking up on one into bow range = awesome.
They are pretty gray, but it is mostly the lighting. You can't tell from the pics, but it was raining pretty steadily and I messed with the contrast and saturation of the pic to try to get the clearest image. Brightened a tad as well and that effected it. I expected if anyone was aware of him, RWK, they would've been up there that morning! :)
Thats a nice one! Always kind of been on my bucket list to get a muley.
