Morning Bear

Here's a bear I saw in the second cut of the morning at about 4000ft elev. It was a short day hunt that ended around 8am The weekend before not seeing anything it was okay with me to see him so quickly. He was feeding along a tree line about 150 yards away and presented a broadside shot with a single 300WM. He was 6' skinned out nose to tail without a stretch, so most likely was a live 5'1/2. Buried the skull for a year, meat to the butcher, and skin to the taxi for a rug. A good day full of work with only a few cuts! thanks for reading.

Nice work! I'm sure he'll make a nice looking rug!

Good bear, nice spring fur, and some delicious eating. Congrats.

I see a bear pot roast with taters, onions and carrots in your future. Spring bear can be some very tasty vittles.

BC, this probably isn't your first rodeo, but I burried a bear skull a long while back and the bone got soft. I boil skulls now with some dishwashing detergent. Nice bear.
