Get a high quality lightweight tent that is a little larger than you think you will need. A four person tent is about the right size for two hunters (unless they are special friends.) I have seen guys have to leave the hunting area due to using super cheap tents that fold up in the wind, rain, or snow.

Lightweight gear, strong pack frame, a strong back, and a map.

Hang up your food and garbage high between 2 trees and keep the cooking pans clean. After a kill hang up the meat high too. Found that one out the hard way.
