Wyoming draw is out

I drew region Y for deer.

Y sold out in the draw for the first time this year and a bunch that applied did not get that tag! Good for you and we'll probably get together out there sometime during your hunt!

If you were "successful" for an elk area 7 type 1, you'd better check again. A glitch somewhere caused them to overdraw the quota. Going to be a mess.

Y was my second choice. I had R as my first. I plan on being out there the first week of Sept.

***Yep! They input about 1200 too many tags for the unit 7-1 total, so way too many guys initially had a successful showing on their account. They had to go back in and look for the correct cutoff number and then changed all those people that drew past that number to unsuccessful. They also goofed and forgot to input a total for the 124-4 cow elk tags and everyone that had entered that draw got an unsuccessful notice and it showed no tags were drawn on the odds stats. They went in and corrected that and all those with low enough numbers to draw the available tags had their accounts changed to successful. I've been going out there most every year since 1992 and this is the first problem I've ever seen in the draw, so they really do a darn good job.

***Looks like our paths won't cross after all, as I don't plan to be out there until about 9'23 or so.

That's too bad I was looking forward to meeting you.

I guess I didn't realize you were planning to go early for a bow hunt, as I thought you were going out for a rifle hunt in October. Don't forget you need to buy a $30 archery permit along with your Conservation Stamp.

Yup I knew that but thanks for reminding me. I can buy the archery permit after I get out there right?

***Yea, but I'd buy and print it out right online like you can also do with the Conservation Stamp and then you'll have everything when you leave the house on your trip.
