NRA hunts

Anyone ever do the NRA hunts. They send out emails for Elk hunts. I figure they must have a good reputation, right ?

Are you talking about the hunts they charge a fortune for at the Whittington Center near Raton, NM?

I will look for the email. But it said 9 of 9 elk hunters took an elk.

I looked into these once. Took me about 6 seconds to decide they were out of my price range. But, to each his own.

NRA does nothing for Colorado. They can kiss my rump!

I've been an NRA member since about 1972. I believe in the cause.

But just lately they started calling and soliciting. I mean calling frequently. I ignored the calls for a while then just put them on call block.

Never thought I'd see the day. I may not renew next time. I'm that irritated.

The NRA hunts at the Whittington center near Raton NM are great hunts with decent trophy potential. Seems like they have around 40,000 acres of private land at the center to hunt on. If I could afford one I wouldn't hesitate to go on one there.

***I went through part of the property several years ago on the way down for a ML mulie hunt in the Gila. It is a great area for all kinds of game, but as stated, the prices are out of the range of most common folk.

Same here. I was hunting around Taos stopped in to look it over. Nice place but, more than I can afford.
