What is a good dog breed that I can bring with me when hunting and fishing?

So, you want to keep the dog in camp, or use it to hunt big game? What state?

Any dog that will listen, will be a good dog to take fishing and hunting. Most states limit the use of dogs while hunting, so bear that in mind.

I won't use the dog to hunt, I would just have it with me and I live in montana.

Well I don't want a dog while hunting but I do take my redbone into the mountains from dec til april

I went a couple times with friends but that's it. I'm going to start next year.

Leave the dog at home while hunting big game. The hound will know the animals are around before you do most of the time.

My springer spaniel will pin and hold an antelope for the shot just like she does with a rooster pheasant. Great dog.

I also have a pack of 6 black labs who work together to retrieve deer.
