Grizzly spoted in N.W. Colorado

A friend of mine who is an experienced big game hunter who was scouting for elk ran into a bow hunter who had set up 7 trail cameras, this bow hunter showed my friend many many pic's from all 7 cameras he had just removed.

They say the bear in the pic's is a grizzly the same grizzly in all pic's, that means the bear was following mans scent from camera to camera. I have not seen the pic's and am skeptical but my friend says the bear definitely had the shoulder hump and was a grizzly.

Have you seen any grizzlies in Colorado or heard from a reputable knowledgeable person that has?

No comment without seeing the pictures.

No, i've never seen a grizz in Colorado.

I can't comment on the griz but a lot of us know there are at least a few wolves.

Looks like I need a new sidearm.

anything is possible, animals will move out of there territory. Until a picture is produced can't really say.

Yes I know pics are the first thing I asked for but my friend just met the guy so no pics. Any way it got me thinking so I thought I'd ask if anyone here had seen any in Colorado. I've only seen black bear and their tracks, I'm hoping if it's true the guy uploads the pic's to utube. Thanks guys!

It’s very possible. But way too many people mistake a cinnamon colored bear for a grizzly. If I was a betting man that’s what I would guess it is.

A friend of mine has a buddy who is a rancher in No. Colorado. He says his rancher buddy has sent video of grizzly's taking his sheep in CO to the DOW, who deny it.

My take is that if there are officially no grizzlys in CO, then you can hunt them as black bears.

The DOW says there are no grizzlys in CO. That's the final word.

Not a good idea. All bears killed in Colorado need to be inspected.

Colorado classifies the Grizzly Federally threatened and State endangered. You it was shot you are probably going to pay a nice fine or go to jail. http://wildlife.state.co.us/Wildlife...edSpecies.aspx

Yeah, I was being sarcastic about the DOW's position on it.
