You'd be a lot better off putting your post in the archery section if you want answers pertaining to archery specific stuff!

Well not everyone in archery section has bowhunted Elk either!!!!
Yes that arrow should do fine. what kind broadhead you plan on using with it. A good cut on contact type will help do the trick.

Topgun 3006 I was thinking archery at 1st....Butt then i thought it pertains more too BIG GAME! ...Thanks for the advice ;)

Buckalley... I shoot a rage 2 blade/ grim reaper around here! Never shot a fixed blade butt willing!

A lot of western states don't allow expandable broadheads for elk. For an animal that large I wouldn't think they would do very well.

Really! What are they, as I haven't seen any regs. that preclude their use as long as they open up to a minimum width that is specified for any broadhead?

OR is one state that does not allow expandable broadheads.

If you want my honest opinion I would use the Rage head for deer and change to something else for an elk. ANY super shart fixed blade head will do good.

If you have to use an expandable (and the state allows it), there has been good success with the new Ulmer Edge.

I also would recommend a strong fixed blade broad head, the main thing you want on something as big as an elk is penetration. Most of the popular fixed blade heads fly very good and are easy to tune.

Thanks for the link! It appears that just the three states of Washington, Idaho, and Oregon up in the northwest don't allow them at all and South Dakota doesn't allow them for elk.
