Witch Hunting

So I' m passing through the living room last night and the wife is watching some show on the Discovery Channel about Witch Hunting in Massachusetts. Since I was on my way to a cold beer, and to tie some flies out in the mud room, I didn' t sit to watch, but it got me thinking...Why in the hell would anybody want to hunt Witches?
I' ve never actually seen one in person, but if I remember my children' s books correctly, they' re just a bunch of broken-down old women! I mean, really. From every picture I' ve ever seen they' re all old and bowed over; can' t be much of a challenge bringin' one down. And besides, why would you want to kill ' em? They look all stringy and bony. Probably wouldn' t be very good eatin' . And ugly?...HOOOEEE! Even if you did get a big one, would you really want to hang her nasty melon on the wall in the rumpus room at home!? The kid' s wouldn' t be able to sleep and the dogs' hair would probably fall out!

Anyway, it seemed a bit strange to me. Any of you guys ever hunted ' em? Bow or gun? I would imagine they come in season around Halloween.

Thanks,
Beans.

P.S. Sorry if I posted on the wrong board. I' m not sure if they' d be considered big or small game, or perhaps even upland game, as I believe they are known to fly

well, tags are getting harder to come by, usually i ended up dating them instead of getting the equivalent of " crop damage" hunts...and got " flaming weiner disease" .

Is baiting legal? Where do you get bat wings and eye of newt anyway?
Do you have to wing shoot them or can you sluce them on the ground?
How about hunting times, is there daylight restrictions or can you hunt them after dark?

The reg' s should be interesting on this one.
