How big is this black bear?
Hi folks I am wondering how big this bear is that showed up on my trailcam? I am not baiting for any bears but he happened along. I am thinking he is looking for newborn fawns to eat..

Looks like a good, mature one that would go a good 300# or better, but there was nothing alse in the picture (50 gal drum, etc.) to get a real good idea. If I had a tag, I'd sure shoot him.

Nice size bear, but not quite big enough to eat your camera.

I showed this to aguide up here who is figuring this bear will prolly run handy to 350lbs or maybe a little bigger. He is doing his judging by the ears on it as well as the size of the front legs. Here is a pic of a bear that did try to eat my trailcam back in 09. This is the first time I have realy used my trailcam since then as it kept getting moisture in it.I now use a c-clamp on it to keep it water tight. Anyways here is a pic of a sow around 200+ lbs with her 2 year old cubs. Notice how big the ears look compared to that short video..

Take what everyone else says and divide by 2. It's 150 lbs. Crazy but it's a good way to tell. It did walk a bit clumsily though. 200 gutted.

Bear
It looks pretty good for a spring bear. The ears were sitting fairly wide on the head. Come fall, it's going to be a lot fatter. Definetly a shooter.:fighting0007:
I hope we both have luck with our Moose draws! |

Looks like a good male around 300. Wide spread ears that look round like a cookie showing that he is an adult. Hard to get a true size because I didn't get to see how low his belly hung. Beautiful bear.
