Colorado deer drawing results!
 

The front/back door is up for the Colorado deer drawing. Different than last year. You don't have to act like you are applying for a license. Just go to DOW/hunting/big game and click on drawing results/preference points on the left. Then enter your data and go to preference point page. Scroll down to the bottom and look at your preference points. If you have 0 under deer, and it says 2012 on the year, you drew your first choice. Doesn't tell you about 2nd choices though.

Noticed I gained a point. Guess I set this one out or buy OC Bull.

I've been checking all week thinking that Moose should be up already on the normal "back door". I never noticed the 2012 in the results/pref points.

Looks like I came up short on deer and moose. One of my boys drew his deer, the other didn't. Going to be some hard feelings come October.

I drew my late season buck deer private land license...

Back door still has no results yet. Kind of slow this year.

Front door only tells you about your 1st pick.

Guess I'll just wait till May 29th when the results for Deer are to be posted and June 4th when the drawing for Elk will be published.

You can also call up the DOW and ask them how you did. They actually encourage it.

Deer, bear, and moose are posted the way txhunter58 said. 3 more refunds for me.

The problem is it doesn't tell what you got for a 2nd choice like the backdoor method does. I'm not sure why that isn't working by now?

when will we be able to find out about elk? i checked earlier today and i had an additional point on deer but my elk points are still the same as last year.

They draw elk this Friday. It might show Friday night.

The backdoor used to be a way to check results before they were released. It involved making believe you were applying for a licence, and reading the codes of what you already had applied for and what you've gotten so far.

It's not needed anymore now with the new feature the DOW put in place, and frankly, it doesn't seem to work anymore either.

This is all you need now.

mine shows i got another preference point but doesn't say if i am getting a refund or my second choice. is there anyway to find out if i got my second choice besides waiting until June 4?

No, but it will show what you got before June 4.


I got my elk tag. No surprise. It was a sure bet.

There all posted about 10 days earlier this year. I drew elk and antelope.

They were always posted early. You just had to know how to get to it.

They made it easy for everybody now.
