What would you pay for a service like this?

And would you use a service like this?
This service provides vital and helpful information for non-resident big game hunters who have already drawn their tag (elk), and plan on doing a DIY hunt on public land(s). It is specific to the state and hunt area (unit) that they drew. They draw their information from first hand knowledge of the area(s) and species, a network of "on-the-ground" scouts, and G&F biologists and various reports.
It includes things like detailed topo maps of the hunt area highlighting specific "high success" areas within the hunt area on the map, local regs and rules not only governing the hunt but also things like ATV and vehicle use, local accomodations and camping and RV locations. It also has pointers on proper handling of the meat, local meat processors and taxidermists.
They indicate that this "package" dramatically improves your sussess rate. It's like "having an outfitter, without the cost!"
Sounds like a great idea, but what do you think it should cost?
(Their advertised price is about $150.00)

Sounds to me like the kind of stuff you can easily get for free. Id use the $150 for gas and make a few friends. What is a"various reports" ? The rest is free info on the net.

AgrEe
I would be a $10 map
Go to a local bar, buy some guys a round of $3 beers, take out the map. And say hey I'm thinking of hunting this area,
Bet they will circle all sorts of hot spots for you.

That is all part of the hunt. Gives me something to do leading up to the day I leave. Sometimes 2 years. Now if it just came up and I did not have the time.

For the money a NR is tossing in the ring to draw a tag, he would have to be an idiot not to have already done about 90% of what they say they will do for you AFTER you draw the tag. NO THANKS!!!

I would give that kind of info for free!! I have always said I would help any one any way I can !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I always thought part of hunting was finding out all that info myself.

I wouldn't pay squat for it.

I would use the service if I had no time to scout, or do not know the area. Good luck :confused0024:
