What have you forgotten?

Hard to imagine with all the lists and great advice here, that anyone could ever forget anything on an elk hunt,,,but is there anything that you have forgotten, or wished you really had when you got into that spike camp? or unrolled that tent? Going first rifle season, only a couple weeks away now,,,,and I think i have just about everything...or do I????

OK I found the most important thing to take hunting is THE GUN and AMMO. Did that once.

Forgot the rifle once. Fortunately I was hunting relatively close to home. I've also forgotten my tags a couple of times. Again, fairly close to home. I've forgotten a finger tab or glove several times when bow hunting, but can shoot a few times bare fingered before it causes too much pain. I've considered I will be going to a release with a new bow next year and that worries me in terms of another piece of equipment to forget or loose...

In 2008 I was living in California, and went up to my son's place in Oregon on a Nov. deer hunt, forgot my tag at home, remembered it as I pulled up in son's driveway. Cost me $12 for a replacement tag, got the buck in my avatar there.

spotting scope...

had nice bino's though, and honestly probably wouldn't have wanted to pack the scope on those hikes/that elk hunt, not much to glass, but still, bit forget!

If you can believe it I forgot TP one time, I told our crew I'd bring it and never did...OOOPPPS.

Don't forget the key to your trigger lock mechanism!!!!

I did that once on a deer hunt -- had to drive back to the house 20 minutes and then 20 minutes back to the hunting spot. I drive 900 miles to hunt elk, which would require a different solution. I now put the trigger lock key on my everyday key chain. Yep! There it is!

When I got my elk this year and I went to sign my tag. Yep! No pen anywhere to be found.
