Which is the better Deer Hunting State?

I am thinking of moving to either Utah or Colorado in the future.Which state offers the best opportunities for a resident hunter?
I am primarily interested in whitetail and mulie hunting.
I also would like a hunter friendly state with public land available.

I can tell you that Colorado has some tremendous mulies in the mountains and some pretty nice whitetails on the eastern plains. The Plains is mostly private land but the mountains has lots of public. Utah has some great mulies as well. Not sure if they have a whitetail population or not?

I would pick Colorado, but I am biased because I already have a place there.

Best of luck in what ever you decide!

Definitely go to Utah. We don't have any decent deer here in CO and it all draw only with applications due in first week of April. Yep Utah is where you want to go..........
