Yeah, 40 pounds or so is about right maybe a little less. Be patient with goats sometimes they are frustrating to hunt, should be a great time.

what are the land owners like out there. do they let people on or not. where we plan on hunting if we draw tags has alot of free land but just wondering if it is worth asking land owners.

The landowners, for the most part, are decent people who will let you on for a fee, which varies quite a bit. Very seldom will you find any free hunting on private land any more unless you know someone or are a relative of the owner. When the leftover list comes out next week you will be able to see what license are available. Some units may have up to 4 doe licenses available. What unit did you put in for and I'll tell you exactly how much public land there is that you can hunt for free?

Don't just ride around in the truck all day, they like to hide in the valleys/draws anytime they hear a truck coming after opening day. I saw so many walking or sitting in good areas and let them come to you. Like trails or water holes.
