Antelope Scope
 

I have 3x9 Leopold on my rifle, do you think that is enough scope for Wyoming antelope hunting?

If not, what would you suggest that would cost less than $500?

A 3X9 will be just fine for antelope. Just practice shooting at various powers and ranges. I generally carry mine on 6x.

It should work just fine for you.

Just fine---I have the VXI on my 25-06 Ruger for antelope and a VXII on my pre 64 Model 70 30-06 for deer and elk out in Wyoming and they have proven to be more than enough for out there!

The only thing to consider is a good pair of binos or a spotting scope. Judging antelope is very hard and at further distances it's nice to have the higher power but if you have the binos or spotting scope that 3x9 will be just fine.

Yep, good binos are a must and if you are looking for a real good buck a spotting scope is invaluable. It will save a lot of time before you go on a long stalk without one only to find out a buck you thought was a shooter doesn't pan out when you close in on him for a shot. I use a tripod with a quick disconnect so I can also use it as a rest for shooting goats and mulies out in Wyoming.
