Bear Cub Survival

I do alot of bear hunting in Western MA. This year I have been eyeing a very large sow. She has 2 of this years cubs accompanying her. The cubs probably weigh about 40 to 50lbs. I would like to take the sow this fall, but I am unsure as to the status of the cubs at this age w/out their mother. Will they survive on their own at this age or should I pass on the monster sow and hope to find her again next year? Any info. would be helpful. I would feel terrible if the cubs didn' t stand a chance.

It is illegal in Mass to take a sow with cubs... and in my opinion very unethical.

I feel your pain though .. especially if she is huge. There is always next year for her .. and other bears for this year.
