Any idea how many preference points would be needed to hunt either area 66 or 67 for a bull? Guy my dad works with is trying to plan us a trip for oct 2012 ... but none of us have any points.. We all will be sending in money by april 5th this yr for a point and as well as next april..

Looking at the hunt recaps it appears you should draw unit 66 with no points. Will the outfitter refund your deposits if you don't draw? I'd ask that question!

Let me clarify my last post - the draw with 0 points isn't guaranteed, but the odds were okay for last year, especially in the later seasons.

If you pick up one point this year you will only have 1 point in next year's draw, not two. You don't get a point for applying, you get a point for failing to draw your first choice or by buying a point.

That said, unit 66 was a guaranted draw (rifle seasons) with 1 point last year so, if you all have 1 point next year you should all draw, assuming the unit doesn't have a bunch of folks with more than 1 point apply in 2012.

I got the preference points edition of Colorado Out doors today. Last year it took 2 points for Non Residents, unit 66 bull tag, 1st rifle season. Everything else for 66 and 67 was 0.
