Best boot waterproofing???
I've only had one pair of leather hunting boots that were actually waterproof...as advertised...an old pair of Rockys, way back in the day.
After wading a short distance in a shallow icy stream yesterday while muzzle loader hunting, I realized my danner pronghorns need some help.
What is the best product you would recommend??
mink oil??
silicone???
thanks

Boots with rubber on them
Whether it was boots, half rubber and the top leather or rubber insulated boot for the wet snowy wintry weather. Or the Walmart rubber boots for early archery, there was one constant. Had to have rubber on them. Might not be the best boot, by far, but its job was to keep water out.
And I've added mink oil and silicone spray at times on some boots. Used the silicone on rubber. And I've loved my military desert boots in the warm weather. But much of the time its rubber. Besides, the old feet are calloused up to make much difference. Those old Vietnam era jungle boots sure broke those callouses out.
