Default Best boot waterproofing???

I've only had one pair of leather hunting boots that were actually waterproof...as advertised...an old pair of Rockys, way back in the day.

After wading a short distance in a shallow icy stream yesterday while muzzle loader hunting, I realized my danner pronghorns need some help.

What is the best product you would recommend??

mink oil??
silicone???

thanks

I like Camp Dry or similar silicone spray for my Goretex boots.

I would think Danner would replace them if they sold them as waterproof.

Default Boots with rubber on them

Whether it was boots, half rubber and the top leather or rubber insulated boot for the wet snowy wintry weather. Or the Walmart rubber boots for early archery, there was one constant. Had to have rubber on them. Might not be the best boot, by far, but its job was to keep water out.
And I've added mink oil and silicone spray at times on some boots. Used the silicone on rubber. And I've loved my military desert boots in the warm weather. But much of the time its rubber. Besides, the old feet are calloused up to make much difference. Those old Vietnam era jungle boots sure broke those callouses out.

Default boot dressing

Been using "Bear Grease" for leather on boots forever.
My uncle used it, he was an ironworker & swore by it.
