It took well over 5 minutes for that deer to die all the while it had to endure the teeth and claws of the cougar sinking into its flesh. Nature is a cruel cruel thing.

It has been confirmed that mountain lions have killed full grown horses and cows. Be alert if you hunt where there are big cats.

I live in the Piney Woods of East Texas. I hear these things all the time. Ive seen them too. Some black some brown. The most bonechilling thing I have ever heard is one screaming. Nice post.

Thank goodness I have a gun and can level the playing field with the cougar. The buck should have gotten away but that just shoes how tough the cats are. I felt bad for the deer but i guess that's nature. thanks for the post. BB
