Default Opening weekend MT archery elk

Filled my cow tag opening weekend, 30 yard shot. It's my first elk with a bow. Anyone else have any luck?

Got this fella second weekend of the season. Called him in for a 10 yard shot. Would have got pictures in the field, but found out I left the camera at home when I was getting ready to take pictures. First elk with a bow.

pretty bad luck here....saw some, but old timers in the area were saying the wolves have just decimated populations...

we heard some sounding off one evening, another group of guys saw multiple wolves multiple nights, some paced them in the dark one morning...the guy said he pulled out his sidearm.

I wonder if rifle hunters will take matters into their own hands this fall, my guess is many will if given the opportunity.

I think many limited tags are in the near future....for many of us whether we want them or not...

Anyone been to the RMEF headquarters in Missoula, MT? man they have some heads in there!

Most are close to 400" +/-

Seem like most 400's tend to be 7x7's...

I think one was the former MT state record typical/former world record by fred mercer?

fun to read the stories etc...about them all too.

very slow for us nothing talking or coming to calls, plus the fact that it was in the mid 70's at 9600' every day of muzzle loading season. Oh well they will be bigger next year.
