They made it pretty clear; no liptons tea, no green tea, just herbal stuff and hot water. I don' t know if that qualifies as okay. They are pretty straight arrows; BUT they have a great sense of humor and they work and hunt very hard.

We usually have a couple of drinks before bed, but after all the firearms are locked up. We never get drunk at camp. We save that for the strip bar the day after the season closes.

Every October I take off and camp away for 17 days---a week for elk and a week for deer. I don' t camp in a group. I' m by myself, but my husband comes up sometimes on the weekends. I' ll have 1 or 2 beers sometimes around the campfire after dinner while I read whatever book I brought, but I don' t ever have more than that. Elk hunting is hard enough without having that dragging feeling from too many drinks the night before. I hike alot of miles in some pretty steep country and being in the best possible shape is a definite advantage. Man, I can' t wait!:D

the reason booze is not allowed in our camp is because of the firearms around.we amended our rules last year. we allow beer or other the last day of the hunt. we draw straws to see who is the one that does not drink. accidents can and will happen. we need someone that is ok to drive. i had rather be safe than sorry. we have a blast in camp without drinking. we also try to set an example for the younger hunters.

Seems like the assumption has been that alcohol in camp equals drunks....
Our camp is above 10,000 feet and we hunt our butts off from before dawn to dust. We enjoy a beer upon return to camp and great wine with the meal. No one has ever been hung over and not answered the alarm the next morning. It' s called being mature responsible adults.
If you enjoy a nip after a long day in the woods, you just need to insure that you take in sufficient fluids as appropriate (water that is) to avoid dehydration. Alcohol will have a dehydrating effect on you.

Oh hell, go ahead and bring the booze. Maybe even some acid. Ever try walking to your hunting spot 5:00 am tripping, it' s a gas. Many benifits to LSD over booze, no hangovers, packs in light, ets. So what your future kids are born with three legs. It' s a small price to pay for a little youthful excitement.....Seriously, bottomline hunting is suppose to be FUN, just use a little common sense.

most of what everyone says is correct. i just had rather decide on the side of saferty and caution. i do not care how safe you are,when alcohol is used accidents are very likely to happen.i like cold beer myself. i just do not want to take the chance.
