I'd say shoot what you want to shoot. Sure there are smaller, lighter kicking rifles that would do the job... but where's the fun in that? If you have the means and desire to own a.460, then get one. I'm one of those "overkill" people too. I am not recoil sensitive. I actually enjoy heavy recoil.

I once had a gun dealer refuse to order a .338 win mag for me. He said "That's overkill for around here". Needles to say, he lost about $2500 dollars that day. It's not hiss business why I want one.... its my money and I wanted one.
