270 shell
I was wondering what is the best factory load made for 270 win for moose?

Federal...
150 nosler partition (did the job on a 7' vancouver island black bear) 140 accubond 130 TSX Rem 140 Swift A-frame would be pretty sweet I think I'd want a heavy premium bullet with controlled expansion. Ideally 150 grains, but those triple shocks are pretty awesome, but only loaded in 130grs? Maybe find a custom loader to load you up some premium 150grainers...? I think of all those loads my #1 pick now would be that Remington 140 A Frame, nearly 100% weight retention. |
Any of the above bullets would work fine for moose.. A friend of mine has shot 2 with his .270, both with the 150 grain nosler partition Fed premiums..
Shoot 'em in the ribs and they'll tip over in good order.. Might take 'em a couple of minutes to figure out that they are DEAD, but you'll get your moose.. |
I agree with the Remington 140 grain Swift A Frame load, that would by my first choice if I was using my .270 on a moose.

Federal nolser partitions are never a bad choice. CB

Take your pick.
Federal Premium ammo with Nosler partition bullets. Remington Premier with Swift A-Frame bullets. Either will work just fine. |
Hornady loads a 140 grain accubond in its light mag ammo, flying at 3100 fps, I dont know about moose but its done a number on everything ive shot with it.
|
Light magnum has been discontinued for "superformance" ammo. Don't see any accubond for the 270 yet.
But federal premium loads both the 140 gr accubond and the 150 gr nosler partition. |
I apologize I meant interbond sorry yall
