Well looking for some general help on elk hunting in Co. I will be going to hunt and looking for a gmu to go to. I will have 8 points and was wondering what areas offer the best hunting. I'AM WILLING TO DO RIFLE,OR MUZZLELOADER HUNTS. Would look into guides maybe or better yet drop camp with good hunting. Not looking for a monstor but would like a fair shot at a 300 class elk. Any help to get me looking in the right diretion would be great.

No a thing. My buddy drew Area 10 this last season, shot a 7x8 bull. Very nice. No doubt you could do the same in 2 or 201.

Out of reach with 8 points but persistence gets it done.

Won't get near 61 with 8. You will need at least 11 preference points to draw a license for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th seasons and 14 for the 1st season. Achery takes at least 12 and a muzzle loader hunt requires 15 preference points.
