Elk Hunting Backpack Question

I need ideas, suggestions, and tips on what kind of pack to get. Any and all thoughts appreciated!!!

Kind of an open ended question, but if you are talking about something to carry all your gear for day trips look at the Badlands 2200. If you are talking about something to carry gear for 3 or more nights, look at their 4500. Badlands packs are very popular and with their internal frame can be used to pack out an elk quarter.

I currently use a Cabelas Gun&Bow pack, which is good for hunting in and the layout well thought out. However it doesn't seem to be made for people with a waist under 33", can't adjust it down far enough to keep the weight on the hips.

For a day pack the Cabelas Elite Scout Pack is also good. In a pinch it can haul a good amount of meat (my 6X6's head came out on one) but it's not ideal for that.

Both of these have internal hydration.

Now I am looking at the Eberlestock J107. I like their integrated rifle scabbard design.

I have and use the Badlands 2200.

I wish I could have looked at several day packs before I ordered the Badlands 2200 from Cabelas.
Hind sight being 20/20 I would have bought the Superday pack over the 2200 had I had the chance to look at the packs in person.

Check out the Mystery Ranch Crew Cab, this pack does it all. I have one and love it. You can wear it as a day pack, then if successful haul out a 100 lbs of meat in it...awesome pack.

I just bought an Eberlestock Just One pack. I like the idea of the rifle scabbard on it. They get some pretty good reviews.

Won't know for a while how well I like it though.

I've used a Badlands 4500 for years and haven't ever had any complaints. I've packed elk, moose, caribou, mountain goat, and Dall sheep in that 4500 and it's always worked well, and carried the loads comfortably. Here it is loaded down with over 100 pounds of sheep meat, head, and cape.
