Spent opening weekend in New Mexico instead of down on my property in Fisher county and it turned out to be a pretty good move!

Biggest deer of my life!


Only negative was that I was hunting by myself and the camera on my backpack ended up focusing on a clump of grass instead of the deer in the timed shots. Lesson learned there.


Took him by the house before going to the taxidermist and got a picture with my son. He thought it was pretty neat. In his words, I "Boomed a big deer!" :biggrin:

NICE buck!! Your boy doesn't look TOO excited. I didn't score this one but got him in Wyoming about 10 days ago. My buddies went buffalo hunting and I figured I'd get enough buffalo meat, .... so I went deer hunting, my first love! I'll take my daughter next year and let her "boom" an antelope.
